WHAT IS ACMI LEASING?
ACMI stands for Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance
Sometimes known as a wet lease, an ACMI lease is an agreement between two operators whereby the lessor provides the aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance, albeit under the lessee’s AOC.
In general, the lessee receives an aircraft that is ready to fly almost immediately after the contract is signed.
The price for an ACMI is issued by the lessor using an hourly rate. This rate is determined by the aircraft type, number of block hours the lessee wishes to operate per month, routes and sector times and number of crew, amongst some other factors.
